Ek het geweet hierdie titel gaan jou aandag trek. Want glo my vry, ek was self hoogs beïndruk met kleinkind se woordskeppings …
Ek het die week vertel van blouvaal. Wel, sopkoud is ook een van sy nuutskeppings.
So hardloop hy nou die aand blykbaar sopnat en kaalbas deur die huis. Hy wil nie sy slaapklere aantrek nie. Hy wil in Adamsgewaad wees.
Dit is natuurlik nog koud, en pappa en mamma vertel vir hom dat hy moet kom om af te droog. Want hy is sopnat!
Nadat hy ‘n rukkie so kaalbas rondgehardloop het, kom hy by hulle aan om aan te trek met die volgende woorde:
Sopkoud!
Ek het so gelag toe sy pappa die storie met ons in Signal deel. Want, hoe kan sopkoud verkeerd wees?
As mens sopnat is en die sopnat word koud, is jy seker sopkoud? Ek is beïndruk met die feit dat my kinders my kleinkinders aan intensiewe vorme blootstel.
Dollatjie doen dit ook. Haar oudste was nog bitter klein toe ons ‘n baie groot plastiese swembad staangemaak en vol getap het om in te swem toe hulle vir ‘n kersfees tuis was.
En sy woorde het my verras:
Ouma, massiewe swembad!
As baie ander kinders van sy ouderdom nog skaars gepraat het oor grootte van goed.

How adorable and fitting! My parents would tell me over the years how as a baby toddler I would do that too; I’m sure being happy and oblivious to rules or proper attire I was ready just the way I came into the world; bare-ass naked! What a joy!

You’re welcome Dr. Christa; I thought it was pretty natural under the circumstances, and there certainly isn’t anything to find any fault with, in such an innocent child. The learning curve in full display! 🙏
I just thought of how Jesus would have responded and I think we know the answer without a doubt.
Mark10:13-15 “Now people were bringing the little children to Jesus for Him to place His hands on them, and the disciples rebuked those who brought them. 14But when Jesus saw this, He was indignant and told them, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not hinder them! For the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. 15Truly I tell you, anyone who does not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” 🙏
